Golden sunshine on the land, sail boats are out in the bay.
Step by step now our shadows move on, making the most of the day
In through the woods, out though the gate, the birds in the sky they have flown
We have time to dream, by silver streams, we have time to walk the road home
The road we travel will rise and fall
Through valleys of green, and rivers so wide

One by one now, they tell us their tales before we pass them all by
I see your face, sparkling eyes, they tell all i need to know
And then we move on, it won't be long and we know it is time we should go
Day is fading, the dark - it comes, in gloaming we look for our way
Move in stride, a flowing tide, and onward we go, come what may
Soon the stars wake from sleep, the moon rises over the vale
The river will bend, our journey's end, the sail boats they will all sail.
Days will come to think of the past, of a life we have spent out of shade
In our dreams, the world it seems to tell us to not be afraid
