My young love said to me my mother won't mind
And my father won't care for with drink he's half blind
Then she staggered against me and this she did say
Oh it will not be long till the pubs open today

She swayed away from me and she fell down the stairs
And dimly I heard her crash here and crash there
The she went her way homeward just one o'er the eight
And like the swan of the evening she fell into the lake

The people were saying that she was a drunk
And that when close up to her she smelled like a skunk
And I smiled as she hunched down to pick up her gear
And two inches of bum crack from her jeans did appear

Last night she came to me, dead drunk she came in
